4,4'-Bis(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-2,2'-dimethylbiphenyl (BODIPY-CBP) is a fluorescent dye that has been shown to be useful for the diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. It is used as a marker of cytosolic protein in cell cultures and has been shown to have a high correlation with systolic blood pressure in studies of chronic kidney disease. The fluorescence intensity of BODIPY-CBP is sensitive to changes in pH, which makes it useful for the analysis of acidity.
