Beschreibung

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that is used to replace sugar in products. It has been shown to be metabolized by the body into three components: aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol. Aspartame can be toxic to humans if consumed in excessive amounts, and some health concerns have been raised about its possible carcinogenic properties. The use of sodium citrate as a buffer in beverages containing aspartame has been found to reduce some of the potential toxicity associated with the product.
