Produktinformation
- 5-Chloro-3-Nitropyridin-2-Amine
- 2-Amino-5-Chloro-3-Nitro Pyridine
- 2-Amino-5-Chloro-3-Nitropyridinium
2-Amino-5-chloro-3-nitropyridine is an antiviral drug that is a potent inhibitor of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). It is a molecule with two amino groups and one nitro group. The functional theory for this drug is that it binds to the viral enzyme reverse transcriptase, inhibiting its function. The binding site for this drug on the enzyme is hydrophobic, which may be due to the high polarity of the molecule. 2-Amino-5-chloro-3-nitropyridine inhibits the production of proteins necessary for cellular growth by preventing the synthesis of RNA, which has been shown in experiments using Xenopus oocytes.
