2-Amino-5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole is a heterocyclic amine that has been shown to be carcinogenic in rats. It is used as a precursor to other heterocyclic amines and can react with nucleophiles such as chloride ion or amines. 2-Amino-5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole has been shown to have anticancer activity and antibacterial activity.
