This drug is structurally related to fluoroquinolones, which are known for their antibacterial activity. 2-Amino-3-bromo-5-methylpyridine is an amido compound that ionizes in acidic environments and transfers electrons via resonance transfer. Its FTIR spectra show strong absorption bands at 3595 cm−1
