• Beschreibung: DL-Aminobutyric acid is an analog of amino acids and a potent inhibitor of protease activity. It has been shown to inhibit the proteolytic activity of amyloid protein in human serum, most likely by competitive inhibition. DL-Aminobutyric acid also inhibits the enzyme activities that are responsible for the production of ammonia from amino acids. DL-Aminobutyric acid is an analyte in blood sampling and has a pH optimum of 8.0. It has been shown to have inhibitory properties on bacteria strains including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae, but not Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Escherichia coli.
