Angiotensin I trifluoroacetate salt is a human hormone that is formed in the kidney. It plays a key role in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance, and has been shown to be an important regulator of renal function. Angiotensin I trifluoroacetate salt is used to diagnose congestive heart failure and is being studied for its potential as an anti-inflammatory agent. The biological properties of this drug are similar to those of angiotensin II, with the exception that it also has pressor activity. Angiotensin I trifluoroacetate salt was shown to be active against infectious diseases such as Chlamydia pneumoniae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
