Beschreibung:Ac-Ile-Glu-Thr-Asp-PNA is a synthetic peptide that mimics the amino acid sequence of a region in the protein p67phox, which is a component of the mitochondrial membrane. Ac-Ile-Glu-Thr-Asp-PNA induces apoptosis by activating caspases and inhibiting ATP production. In vitro studies have shown this peptide to be active against hl60 cells, an inflammatory bowel disease cell line, as well as carcinoma cell lines derived from squamous cell carcinoma and carcinoma of the cervix. Ac-Ile-Glu-Thr-Asp-PNA also inhibits inflammatory cytokines such as IL1β, TNFα and IL6, which are associated with chronic inflammation.
