H-Asp-Arg-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-Phe-His-Leu-Val-Ile-His-Ser is a fluorescent probe that binds to the active site of dehiscence proteins. This probe has been used to detect the location and size of dehiscence in leaves. The linker region between the fluorophore and the protein binding site can be modified to improve its efficiency by reducing the distance between them. When HAVIVH is bound to a metal ion, it can be used as a fluorescence probe for metal ions. HAVIVH can also be used for weight reduction in crops plants, by binding with a section of plant cells that are not needed for growth and development. This fluorescence probe is also good for kinetic energy translation and algorithm applications, such as determining the optimal sequence of steps for optimal reaction rates.
