• Beschreibung: Acetohydrazide is an inhibitor of Mycobacterium tuberculosis growth. It has been shown to be effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates that are resistant to isoniazid and other inhibitors such as hydrazine and ethionamide. Acetohydrazide binds to the enzyme pyruvate kinase, which results in a decrease in ATP production, leading to cell death. Acetohydrazide has also been shown to cause liver lesions in mice, although the mechanism for this effect is not yet known. This drug has been used in biological studies for its coordination geometry, x-ray diffraction data, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and hydrogen bonding interactions.
