4-Aminopyridazin-3(2H)-one is an antiplatelet drug that has been shown to have a pharmacological effect on the central nervous system. It is also used as a chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of certain types of cancer. 4-Aminopyridazin-3(2H)-one contains two nitrogen atoms that are substituted with methyl groups, which can be hydrolyzed by liver enzymes to form pyridazine and 4-aminopyridine. 4-Aminopyridazin-3(2H)-one inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division at the ribosome level. This drug also has antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, but is not active against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli.
