Beschreibung

DL-2-Aminododecanoicacid is a polyamide with a hydroxyl group. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of infectious agents, such as choroidal neovascularization and HIV. DL-2-Aminododecanoicacid is also a growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of endothelial cells in vitro. It can be used for fluorescein angiography, which uses a fluorescent derivative of this compound to detect areas of increased blood flow in the retina. This compound binds to toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and activates an inflammatory response in cells through activation of NFκB and MAPK pathways. The mechanism of action also includes inhibition of caproic acid, fatty acid, and high salt concentrations. DL-2-Aminododecanoicacid can be titrated calorimetrically with sodium hydroxide solution to determine its concentration in solution.
