Beschreibung

2-Aminocyclohexanol is a biologically active compound that can be prepared by oxidation of cyclohexanol. It has been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. The oxidation product of 2-aminocyclohexanol, 2-amino-6-nitrocyclohexanol, is a potent inhibitor of DNA synthesis and cell division. This compound is stable to hydrolysis and has an isolated yield of 83%. The nitro group, which is the reactive functional group in this molecule, has been shown to undergo protonation with potassium ion or sodium ion at physiological pH levels. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy has also been used to identify the chemical structures of this drug.
