Produktinformation
- 2-Aminopyridine N-oxide
- (2E)-2-iminopyridin-1(2H)-ol
- Pyridin-2-Amine 1-Oxide
2-Aminopyridinen-oxide is an amine oxide that contains a picolinic acid moiety. It can be synthesized by nitrous acid acylation of 2-aminopyridine followed by hydrolysis of the resulting product. The chloride ion is the nucleophile, which attacks the carbonyl carbon atom of picolinic acid, forming an acyl chloride intermediate. This intermediate then reacts with a second molecule of 2-aminopyridine to form 2-aminopyridinen-oxide. The synthesis can be summarized as:
2NH3O2 + CH3COOH → CH3COOC(CH3)2N=O + NH4Cl
CH3COOC(CH3)2N=O + NH2CH2COOH → C(CH3)2NO+ HCl
