Beschreibung

Antimony(III) fluoride is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of metal carbonyls. It has a hydroxyl group and an oxidation catalyst. The chemical stability of antimony(III) fluoride can be increased by adding sodium carbonate as a base. Antimony(III) fluoride reacts with hydrogen fluoride to form hydrogen gas and antimony pentafluoride. Antimony pentafluoride is a type of metal chelate that contains an intermolecular hydrogen bond between two molecules of antimony pentafluoride. Hydrogen bonds are formed by the attraction between the electron-deficient hydrogen atom and the electron-rich oxygen atom in water. This reaction mechanism may also involve an intramolecular hydrogen bond, where one molecule forms two H-O bonds with itself.
