Beschreibung

Aldrin is a neurotoxic insecticide that belongs to the group of chemicals called organochlorines. It inhibits the activity of epoxidases and hydroxylases, which are enzymes that use oxygen to oxidize organic substances. Aldrin also has been shown to cause liver lesions in rats and mice. In addition, it has been detected in wastewater treatment plants and human serum. The acute toxicity of aldrin is low and it does not accumulate in the body. Aldrin also has been shown to have an effect on enzyme activities, as well as chronic oral toxicity.
