Beschreibung

(1S,2S)-2-Aminocyclobutane-1-carboxylic acid is a chiral molecule with two stereogenic centers. It belongs to the group of β-amino acids and has a hydrogen bond donor at the carbonyl oxygen. The asymmetric carbon atom is bonded to the hydrogen and hydroxyl groups, which are in turn bonded to the benzyl group. (1S,2S)-2-Aminocyclobutane-1-carboxylic acid has been synthesized by modifying natural amino acids with a number of structural modifications such as hydroxy group substitution and directional modification of Cα. The vibrational spectra showed that there is an interaction between the amide I band at 1670 cm−1 and the NH stretch at 3100 cm−1. The spectral data also revealed that the amino acid has a functional group that can be modified by various substituents.
