Beschreibung:ATN-224 is a novel compound that has been shown to inhibit atherosclerotic lesion formation in mice. It was found to have minimal toxicity and slow the progression of lesions in mice with established plaques. ATN-224 inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species, which are thought to be involved in the development of atherosclerosis. It also has inhibitory properties against copper-catalyzed oxidation of low density lipoprotein (LDL). ATN-224 inhibits iron homeostasis by inhibiting the uptake of iron into cells and inducing caspase-independent cell death, leading to tumor regression in mouse models.
