This drug is also effective against bowel disease, which may be due to its ability to inhibit toll-like receptor and receptor activity. Aurintricarboxylic acid also inhibits dextran sulfate-induced inflammation in rats and reduces the response of lymphocytes to stimulation with mitogens or antigenic agents.
