• Beschreibung: L-Alanosine is a nucleotide that is synthesized from adenosine and alanine. It is the first substrate in the synthetic pathway of l-alanosine. L-Alanosine has been shown to have antibiotic properties against gram negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. L-Alanosine inhibits synthesis of bacterial cell walls by interfering with the enzymatic activity of bacterial ribonucleotide reductase, which converts ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides. The molecule also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, preventing elongation of polypeptide chains. In vivo treatment with L-alanosine significantly reduced tumor size and increased levels of ATP in colorectal adenocarcinoma cells.br>br>
