Alclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat pain and inflammation. It binds to the COX enzyme, preventing the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2. This inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and thromboxanes. Alclofenac is administered by injection or orally in combination with other drugs in order to treat diseases such as infectious diseases and pain syndromes.
