6-Amino-5-bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester is an optimisation agent that is used to increase the yield of chemical reactions. It can be used as a modulator in the presence of potassium and has been found to reliably improve the rate of reaction. This compound is an active catalyst for amidation reactions, which are often catalysed by carboxylic acids. 6-Amino-5-bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester is anhydrous and can be stored under a dry inert atmosphere.
