It binds to DNA and causes oxidative stress, which leads to increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). 3-Aminopicolinaldehyde has been investigated for its use in the diagnosis of cancer and cervical cancer. The uptake and pharmacokinetics of this compound have also been studied in humans.
