Beschreibung

Aminomethylphosphonic acid is a phosphonate that is used in wastewater treatment. It inhibits the activity of enzymes (e.g., aminoglycoside-3′-phosphotransferase) in the bacterial cell wall synthesis and energy metabolism. Aminomethylphosphonic acid has been shown to be toxic to neuronal cells, with long-term exposure leading to neuronal death. This compound also alters the activity of receptors, which contributes to its toxicity.
