Beschreibung

Amaranth is a plant that is used for wastewater treatment as it removes nitrogen, phosphorus, and heavy metals from the water. Amaranth also has an antimicrobial effect on bacteria and fungi. The enzyme inhibitors in amaranth inhibit the activity of enzymes that are involved in metabolic processes. This inhibition causes a decrease in the production of lactic acid and ammonia, which reduces odors and helps to maintain a healthy environment. Amaranth also has been shown to reduce the growth of microorganisms by adsorbing them onto its surface. The effects of amaranth can be enhanced by adding an antimicrobial peptide to its surface. It also has been found that amaranth contains chemical compounds with antioxidant properties, which may help to prevent or treat coronary heart diseases.
