Beschreibung

5-Amino-6-(7-amino-5,8-dihydro-6-methoxy-5,8-dioxoquinolin-2-yl)-4-(2-hydroxy-3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-methylpicolinic acid is a metal chelator that has been shown to have an anti-cancer effect in experimental models. This compound inhibits the bioavailability of metals such as iron and zinc by binding to them and preventing their absorption. It also has synergistic effects with streptonigrin, an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth. 5ADMP is used as a therapeutic agent for bowel disease caused by bacteria. The antimicrobial activity of 5ADMP can be attributed to its ability to bind metal ions and prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. 5ADMP is not active against protozoans or fungi.
