Beschreibung

(R)-(-)-2-Aminobutane is an amine with a chloro group. It is used to produce polymers for use in the production of plastics, textiles, and other materials. The amine reacts with the chlorate to form a bifunctional monomer that can be polymerized into a polymer. This reaction is catalyzed by an acid and proceeds through a kinetic process. The rate of this reaction has been shown to be constant over the pH range 2-6. The identity of the monomer can be determined using chromatography or mass spectrometry, and its sequence can be determined using NMR or other methods. (R)-(-)-2-Aminobutane is also used as a reagent in analytical chemistry because it produces asymmetric products when reacted with certain molecules.
