Ala-Val-OH is a molecule with the chemical formula C6H7FO3. It is a structural analog of aspartic acid, which contains a fluoroacetate ester group. The compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of certain tumor cells in vitro and in experimental models. Ala-Val-OH is also capable of inhibiting the release of human serum growth factor from platelets and the proliferation of human leukemia cells. Ala-Val-OH has been shown to have anti-diabetic effects in diabetic patients by decreasing serum glucose levels and increasing insulin sensitivity.
