• Beschreibung: L-Aspartic acid beta-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin (LAM) is a fluorescent amino acid that can be used to diagnose deficiencies of this amino acid. LAM is an experimental diagnostic chemical and has been tested in rats, rabbits, and humans. It is a fluorescent amino acid that binds to the 7th position on lysine residues in proteins. The binding of the fluorophore to the protein can be detected using fluorescence spectroscopy. The assay measures the intensity of fluorescence at 480 nm and 660 nm which corresponds to excitation at 320 nm and 420 nm respectively. LAM is currently being studied as a potential treatment for cancerous cells and their growth.
