Produktinformation
- D-Alanyl-L-leucine
- H-D-Ala-Leu-OH
- (2S)-2-{[(2R)-2-ammoniopropanoyl]amino}-4-methylpentanoate
D-Ala-Leu-OH is a high molecular weight amino acid that is used in the synthesis of polypeptide chains and as a precursor for other compounds. It is soluble in water, which makes it useful in the removal of heavy metal ions from drinking water by filtration. D-Ala-Leu-OH also exhibits bacteriostatic properties against strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and has been shown to be effective against microcystins. The catalytic efficiency of this compound for hydrolysis of microcystins can be increased by irradiation, with the optimum wavelength being at 220 nm.
