• Beschreibung: 3-Amino-5-phenyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one is a racemic mixture of two enantiomers that are chemically identical except for their optical properties. It is used as a preservative in the cosmetics industry and has shown to be an effective antimicrobial agent against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria at concentrations of 0.02%. The mercury salt also has been shown to have antimicrobial properties and can be used as an antiseptic.
