It has also been shown to have cytotoxic effects on cervical cancer cells in the human body. 2-Amino-6-fluorobenzothiazole can be synthesized from 6-aminonicotinic acid and thiourea. The compound's molecular structure consists of a benzene ring with two nitro groups bonded to it and a sulfur atom bonded to the amine group on the benzene ring. This structure is similar to that of fluoroquinolones, but lacks the fluorine atom found in fluoroquinolones. 2-Amino-6-fluorobenzothiazole is not toxic to humans at doses up to 1000 mg/kg when given orally or intravenously.
