Beschreibung

Acetylshikonin is a natural compound that belongs to the group of growth factors. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, which are cells in the body that store fat and produce hormones. Acetylshikonin also inhibits the production of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which is an important intermediate for cellular metabolism. The optimal concentration for acetylshikonin was determined using preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). This compound has been found to induce apoptosis by activating caspase-3 and -9, as well as other pathways in vitro studies on cancer cells.
