Beschreibung

Alpha-asarone is a natural compound that belongs to the class of terpenes and has been shown to have genotoxic, enzyme inhibitory, and apoptosis-inducing properties. Alpha-asarone has been shown to induce apoptosis in a variety of experimental models and model systems. The compound has also been shown to induce DNA damage in cells by inhibiting repair enzymes such as nucleotide excision repair and DNA mismatch repair. Alpha-asarone was found to be toxic at low doses, but it is not mutagenic or carcinogenic.
