Beschreibung:2-Aminobenzanilide is a chemical compound that has been found to have antimycobacterial activity. It is an allosteric inhibitor of the ribosome-inactivating protein (RIP) which inhibits the production of tnf-α, a proinflammatory cytokine. 2-Aminobenzanilide has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in various in vitro assays and inhibits tumor growth in vivo. It binds to sulfonic acid groups on the surface of bacterial cell walls and alters their permeability, thus inhibiting the synthesis of proteins vital for cell division. 2-Aminobenzanilide has also been shown to react with acetylated salicylic acid ligands.
