Anemarsaponin B is a saponin found in the roots of Anemarrhena asphodeloides, which belongs to the family of Apocynaceae. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and diuretic effects. Anemarsaponin B can also inhibit bone resorption and induces production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin 6 (IL-6). The mechanism for these effects is not yet fully understood.
