4-Amino-4'-fluorobiphenyl is a molecule that belongs to the class of anilines. It has been shown to have carcinogenic activity in rats and is a metabolite of other molecules in this class, such as 4-amino-2-fluorobiphenyl. Rats were injected with 4-amino-4'-fluorobiphenyl and developed liver cancer. This molecule also inhibits dna replication and protein synthesis, which are important events in the process of carcinogenesis. The mechanism by which 4-amino-4'-fluorobiphenyl causes cancer is not yet fully understood, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA repair enzymes, such as polyacrylamide gel and termination efficiencies.
