Beschreibung

2-Amino-3,5,6-Trifluoroterephthalonitrile is a benzene derivative that has been shown to have high catalytic activity in the cycling of carbon dioxide. The reaction involves the conversion of CO 2 to methanol and water. This compound is synthesized by condensation and cyclization of 2-amino-1,4,5,6-tetrafluorobenzene with formaldehyde. The reactions are conducted in aqueous solution at room temperature using aqueous sodium hydroxide as a catalyst. In this process, the CO 2 is reduced to methanol and water by chemical reaction with hydrogen gas and oxygen gas.
