Sodium 2-chlorotoluene-4-sulfonate is an industrial chemical that is used as a solvent in the manufacturing process of other chemicals. The solubility of this compound is high in formic acid and can be increased by reaction time. The solubilities of sodium 2-chlorotoluene-4-sulfonate are also affected by temperature, with the solubility increasing at higher temperatures. Sodium 2-chlorotoluene-4-sulfonate has been shown to have a synergistic effect when combined with formic acid and other compounds, such as ethylenediamine and acetic acid.
