Produktinformation
4-(Benzyloxycarbonylamino)benzoic acid is an inhibitor of the enzyme glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD), which is responsible for the synthesis of the neurotransmitter GABA. This compound has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice and rats, as well as to decrease the size and number of prostate tumors in mice. 4-(Benzyloxycarbonylamino)benzoic acid has also been shown to be a fluorescent substrate for optical imaging that can be used in diagnosis. The biological studies show that this compound is taken up by cells in a manner that is dependent on receptor specificity.
