Beschreibung

2-Amino-3-phosphonopropanoic acid is a phosphonic acid that inhibits the synthesis of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) by inhibiting the activity of GABA transaminase. 2-Amino-3-phosphonopropanoic acid is also an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases, which are enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix proteins. 2-Amino-3-phosphonopropanoic acid has been shown to inhibit locomotor activity in mice when exposed to light, and can induce a reduction in cortisol concentration in rats. This agent acts as a metal chelate and can be used for the treatment of microbial infections.
