Produktinformation
Octahydrocyclopenta[c]pyrrole is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme borohydride reductase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of borane to borohydride. Borohydride reductase is essential for the production of hydrogen, which is used for many biological processes including the synthesis of nicotinic acetylcholine and dopamine. Octahydrocyclopenta[c]pyrrole has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against hydroxyl group-containing enzymes such as iridoid glucoside and potassium ion-dependent enzymes such as borohydride reductase. This inhibition may be due to its structural similarity to these substrates.
