Beschreibung:
2,2'-Bisthiophene is a fluorinated analog of biphenyl. It has been shown to be a reactive model system for the study of the redox potentials and conformational properties of p-electron deficient heterocycles. The synthesis of 2,2'-bisthiophene involves a reaction between trifluoroacetic acid and 1,1-dichloro-2,2'-biphenylethane. 2,2'-Bisthiophene has been shown to have high hydrophobicity and good transport properties. It can be used as an analytical chemistry standard for quantitative analysis in polymer laboratories.
