It is typically used in conjunction with potassium dichromate, xylene, hydrochloric acid, carbon tetrachloride, magnesium, sodium citrate and n-oxide. BPP is also an extractant for organic compounds such as chloride, condensation products of chlorine or hydrogen chloride with ethyl acetate or chloroform. It is also a diluent for hydrogen peroxide.
