• Beschreibung: Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor that is used to treat erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis. It is an oral drug that blocks the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) and increases the levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and increased blood flow. Tadalafil has been shown to be effective in men with pulmonary hypertension and primary pulmonary hypertension. Tadalafil also has a side-effect profile similar to other PDE5 inhibitors, including headache, dizziness, nausea, nasal congestion or runny nose, indigestion, diarrhea or constipation, back pain and muscle pain. This drug also interacts with drugs that can cause serious adverse effects if taken with PDE5 inhibitors. Tadalafil is not active against bacteria; therefore it cannot be used for the treatment of bacterial infections such as tuberculosis.
