Beschreibung

2-(bromomethyl)-1-iodo-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzene (BIFB) is a fatty acid that inhibits the activity of protein hydrolases. It is used as a homogeneous catalyst to replace toxic metal catalysts in the synthesis of polymers, and can also be used in the production of linear polymers with high viscosity. This compound has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the enzyme acyl coenzyme A cholesterol acyltransferase, which plays an important role in lipid metabolism. BIFB also has an anti-inflammatory effect due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase enzymes.
