Beschreibung

(sec-Butylamino)(oxo)acetic acid is a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent that can be used to prevent or treat the adverse effects of irradiation. It is also an iatrogenic agent, meaning it is prescribed by a physician. (sec-Butylamino)(oxo)acetic acid is a folate receptor ligand and its use has been shown to have antidepressant properties in populations with a high socioeconomic status. (sec-Butylamino)(oxo)acetic acid binds to folic acid receptors in the central nervous system, which increases the production of serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline. This leads to an improvement in mood and reduction in depression.
