Beschreibung

2-(Bromomethyl)phenylboronic acid is a boronic acid that can be used as a chemosensor. It has been shown to reversibly change the optical properties of galactose and 3-mercaptopropionic acid when in contact with metal ions. This compound binds to receptor molecules, such as carbohydrates, and enhances their binding constants. 2-(Bromomethyl)phenylboronic acid can be used in analytical chemistry for both qualitative and quantitative analysis because it produces an optical signal that can be detected by an analytical method such as optical imaging or spectroscopy. The morphology of cells, such as the number of nuclei present, can also be determined by this compound.
