Beschreibung:
(1-Benzofuran-2-ylmethyl)amine hydrochloride is an aliphatic hydrocarbon that is used as a pharmaceutical preparation. It has been shown to be active against autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, and it also has activity against neurological disorders. (1-Benzofuran-2-ylmethyl)amine hydrochloride is synthesized by reacting phenylsulfonyl chloride with the amine. The asymmetric synthesis of this compound results in two different enantiomers that are mirror images of each other. One of these enantiomers, called (+)-(1-benzofuran-2-ylmethyl)amine, has been shown to be active against depression and psychosis. The other enantiomer is inactive.
