This drug is also an antibacterial agent with pharmacophore properties that inhibit bacterial growth by binding to membrane cytochrome c oxidase and catalysing its oxidation. 6-Bromoquinoxaline binds to the type 1 receptor on T cells, leading to death ligand-induced apoptosis.
